I am branching out into a studio in the lovely and scenic neighborhood of Gowanus, Brooklyn. I needed more wall space to display some of my favorite things. A website specializing in vintage and antique maps, charts, commercial art and other off-beat decorations will follow.
Inspiring Quilts
I visited a quilt show in Connecticut last weekend that my mother had organized with her quilting guild. I was inspired by many of the quilts on display- especially those belonging to the Guilford Keeping Society. Many of these were Civil War era and even earlier quilts yet they looked rather graphic and modern at the same time as looking primitive. Here are some photos of my favorites.
My Booth at Yesterday’s Flea
That’s mine!
I love what I sell and it makes me very happy to see my wares (such as the vintage deer archery target above) on my favorite design blogs. I am glad that some of the creative folks who shop at the Brooklyn Flea appreciate my things, frame them and hang them on their walls with all their other interesting finds and in their own personal context.
