I am in LOVE with this cover that I found on a recent trip to Pennsylvania. It is so evocative of an old country store. It makes me want to buy an entire wheel of a good farmhouse cheddar to put underneath it. Also pictured is a vintage cheese slicer. Anyone have a cheese shop to outfit?

Dr. Auzoux Chalk Plates
I noticed Room & Board selling these on their website for $999 ( click here to see.) They have taken them off the wooden dowels and framed them. I have two from the 1950s in their original format: Langoustine & Sea Urchin. Each has some normal wear and tear, but they are absolutely striking.
Created by French physician Dr. Louis Auzoux and drawn by P. Sougy, these rare, collectible plates were used as teaching tools in France from 1900 through the 1960s. Made of chalk paper, these intricate works of art were used by teachers to illustrate the topic of the day.

Artful Animal Targets
Back to the Flea
I am so glad to be getting back to my usual post at the Brooklyn Flea at One Hanson. A bad injury that has kept me off my feet, some bad weather and some holiday obligations have kept me away for too long. I have lots of great new things that I cannot wait to bring. I will be at the flea most weekends throughout the winter.
Hope to see you there.
School Maps from Down South
I recently purchased a large volume of decommisssioned classroom maps from the state of Georgia. Getting them all back to Brooklyn was no picnic, but here they now are. I will be bringing a few at a time to the Brooklyn Flea this winter, but if you are looking for a specific one or in a specific price range, please contact me. It will take me a while just to look at them all and inventory them. Many are of a newer vintage (from the 1980s and 1990s) and will be very reasonably priced. Affordable for a child's room or play area. Or maybe several for papering an entire wall?
