Inspiring Quilts

I visited a quilt show in Connecticut last weekend that my mother had organized with her quilting guild. I was inspired by many of the quilts on display- especially those belonging to the Guilford Keeping Society. Many of these were Civil War era and even earlier quilts yet they looked rather graphic and modern at the same time as looking primitive. Here are some photos of my favorites. IMG_0014

That’s mine!

I love what I sell and it makes me very happy to see my wares (such as the vintage deer archery target above) on my favorite design blogs. I am glad that some of the creative folks who shop at the Brooklyn Flea appreciate my things, frame them and hang them on their walls with all their other interesting finds and in their own personal context.

Frohse Anatomical Charts

I seem to have anatomy on the brain. Here are a few large and amazingly detailed teaching charts that I have for sale.

Published by AJ. Nystrom & Co. Chicago 1918-1922. American Frohse Anatomical were originally done by Franz Frohse (University of Berlin) @ 1910 they were revised by Max Brodel (John Hopkins University) and copywrited from 1918 thru 1948.

When published their richness of chromolithographic tone, led many to consider them to be the finest such charts in the world, far surpassing today’s rather flatter images. The image size is 66 x 41 1/2 ”, mounted on original linen 79 x 41 1/2”.
